We know that language learning is more than just grammar and vocabulary. We follow the CEFR (Common European Framework for Reference of Languages), which emphasizes practical goals: our teachers focus on what you can accomplish with the language. Leaving your class knowing that you can now understand that train announcement feels great!
Not a self-study program! You’ll get to know the other group members throughout a series of lessons carefully planned by your teacher.
While our goal is for you to speak as much German as soon as possible–no stress! Our teachers use a range of techniques to help you feel comfortable with using the language and get you speaking.
Online courses typically meet two evenings a week (Monday/Wednesdays or Tuesday/Thursdays) from 6:30pm to 8:00pm CET/Berlin time (other times and intensive courses are also available).
Show don't tell
Our teachers actively engage students in every class. Finding out about a grammar rule yourself helps you to remember it much better than if somebody just gave you a lecture about it.
Practice makes perfect
In our classes, you will often team up with a partner or do a role-play to practice specific real-life situations such as grocery shopping, going to the doctor or attending a job interview.
Beyond the textbook
Nobody wants to sit in a dull class, bent over yet another chapter, discussing the life of fictional characters. Our teachers use interactive real-life materials to match your needs and interests.
