Bernd Hendricks, author and German teacher at All on Board
Bernd Hendricks
Born in Duisburg, in Germany’s industrial Ruhr area, Bernd has worked as a telephone technician, mail carrier, interpreter, journalist, and writer. For many years he lived in New York as a correspondent for German media. Back in Berlin, his love for the German language got its sibling: his love for teaching German. He wrote two books about German for opera singers before turning to writing fiction.
Bernd recently published his collection of New York short stories and reportage “Stromer – Storys und Reportagen von den Straßen New Yorks”, following his third novel, “wir”, a story of a New York mail carrier who is searching for a mysterious poet. More information: https://berndhendricks.com/

Karl Kelschebach is a so-called "Zugezogener" in Berlin, a smalltown boy who moved to the capital, where he studied German Studies and Political Science. In addition to his work teaching German as a foreign language, he also composes articles on the curiosities of German language and culture published in our blog.
He also indulges his love of language in his podcast Granteln mit Charme, on stage performing readings at Billiger als Kino und Vier Farben Prosa and as the organizer of Slams des Westens.
